August 12thRashaad, What about Hindu holidays? NYC is home to a large South Asian Hindu community. I disagree with altering the school calendar to accommodate every religious community.

August 10thI think public schools should make Muslim holidays part of their calender. They have all the other holidays. For Eid, they should gave kids a day off, because Mulsim students will have to miss school almost every year, unless Eid is on a weekend, but thats not the point.
