Rashaad, What about Hindu holidays? NYC is home to a large South Asian Hindu community. I disagree with altering the school calendar to accommodate every religious community.

I think public schools should make Muslim holidays part of their calender. They have all the other holidays. For Eid, they should gave kids a day off, because Mulsim students will have to miss school almost every year, unless Eid is on a weekend, but thats not the point.
